Air cooled exhaust gasket clamp

Exhaust gasket clamps for air cooled VW’s.

These were designed around early 70’s stock exhausts and are dimensioned as such.

Made from 3/8″ 6061 aluminum.

Includes stainless hardware and gaskets included.

 

 

I made some of these for me after being frustrated with all the garbage clamps that are being supplied today in the exhaust gasket kits.  The original ones worked well enough but the new stuff just seems to flex too much to work correctly.  With these, the gasket is compressed as intended just in a different way.  The solid one piece side goes on the heat exchanger / J-tube and the two-piece (U shaped) portion wraps around the flares on the muffler / header side.

Yes, they’re pricey.  I never made them with the intention to sell but there’s been interest so here we are 🙂  They should last a lifetime though and even if you should strip the threads somewhere down the line just pop a longer bolt in it with a nut on the back.  I’ve installed these on every car I own when I had to remove the exhaust and a few locals have them too and the feedback is the same; they seal tight the first time.
